In Africa, many of the problems seem to stem from corruption. Whether it be from rebellious groups or twisted government officials, they come together with a negative outcome. For example, in South Africa there has been a problem with HIV/Aids for far to many years. The government would tell false information to the people about the disease.

And in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the corruption has come from different groups abducting children and putting them into the war. Both of these problems have been harmful to the countries and have caused much dismay.

Interesting! I've read many articles that suggest that Africa's problems actually stem mainly from colonialism, but I can't agree with that. Surely the problem is poor governing? It doesn't necessarily have to be a democracy, but benevolent and wise leaders, or should I say the lack thereof, are the reason for Africa's woes. I'm actually writing an essay on this for university as we speak, so I'd be very interested to hear what anyone has to say on the topic : )
