Early intervention and quality education to end violence against girls

At a UNICEF-convened side event of the 57th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, entitled Girls Growing up Free of Violence: Promoting tolerance, equality and respect, a panel of five experts representing academia, government, civil society and the United Nations called for an end to violence against girls. The event took place in New York on the eve of International Women’s Day, and panelists highlighted the importance of better and earlier monitoring and interventions, improved education systems, and a coordinated multi-sectoral response.
